How to make purple sea moss gel
- First wash it at least 3 times with a strainer or colander to get off the sand and salt residue from the sea.
- Put it to soak in spring water. No pipe water! Use plenty water because the sea moss will absorb it. Make the water level 1 inch above the sea moss.
- Soak for 3 hours to rehydrate.
- After it soak and swell, blend it with a little fresh spring water until it is liquefied. Use immediately in your recipes or refrigerate for future use. It will turn to a gel after a few hours in the fridge. Use the gel in your smoothies, porridges, anything you can imagine.
- OR, you can simply keep the whole soaked sea moss in the fridge and take out a little each time you want some to use and blend it and add to your recipes.

I am very happy with my Jamaican Purple Sea Moss. It has been a learning experience teaching myself how turn it into a gel and having discipline take it on a consistent basis. I did learn the hard way that it does have a shelf life even in its natural consistency. I am an advocate to the great benefits it provides. I believe in this product that I have shared it with others, to encourage healthy living. My only suggestion is to have a suggested anticipated expiration date because on my last order I ordered six packages of the purple sea moss and two of the roots and they went bad after having it for a period of time and because I didn’t know it had a shelf life it did get wasted unable to use most of the packages. It’s all about learning and taking responsibility on our own life. Blessings!
